Street Style - WEEK 2

I am currently in sunny San Sebastian....well not very sunny at the moment but still a very beautiful city and noticed a girl who I think has great street style.

The reason I chose to share these pics with you is because her outfit is so simple....black shorts, a pair of biker boots, woollen jumper and looks great.

Remember...to have great style does not mean you need to over do it with too many colours or patterns. Sometimes its the basic items...the items we all have in our wardrobe that manage to look the best and continue to stand the test of time.

What do you think of her outfit?

Stainless Steel

I was recently in Amsterdam and prior to arriving I was told that Amsterdam was a very hip, trendy and rather bohemian inspired city. The people who told me this were not wrong. I visited their markets almost every day and was so inspired by their style because it was so effortless and still managed to look great.

If you can pull off a great effortless look....then I am guaranteed to a be a fan of yours.

I've tried to purchase something small from all the countries I have visited and Amsterdam was no exception.

During my many walks across the city, I came across a small jewellery store which stocked a number of stainless steel rings. I fell in love with one design which was a thicker band and a combination of gold and silver.

Check it out.

Theses rings cost me 15 euro for both and at the moment...I am all about "gold" jewellery.

Having one thick banded ring on your finger looks great. It might look chunky in a display cabinet but make sure you try it on before you decide it won't suit your finger. You might just be surprised at how good it looks on.

The jewellery store I bought these rings from also has a website. Be sure to check it out and if you are ever in Amsterdam make sure you visit this store to purchase your very own stainless steel ring.

Sunglasses - Finding the Right Pair

I am in my 10th week of travel across Europe and have visited countries with weather forecasts as high as 50 degrees. A good pair of sunglasses is a perquisite.

Before you read this post...you might guess where this blog is heading...

RAY BANS....

Tourists and locals are all wearing Ray Bans.

The most popular pair would have to be the Wayfarer coloured range. I saw so many people in the earlier stages of my trip rocking a fluro green pair..and actually pulling it off. I am a huge fan of the Wayfarer style but they just don't suit my face shape.

These pictures still make me want to buy a pair....or two.....!

Another style that I love even more than the Wayfarer range which isn't as popular (I am only basing this on the number of people I have seen wearing them) is the Clubmaster range. The reason I love this style is because they look cool, sleek, sexy and trendy. Take a look.

Their is no doubt you need a pair of sunglasses when you travel. The reason I am huge fan of Ray Bans is because they are a lot cheaper than your Prada, Gucci, Chanel sunglasses.

When you travel you're almost guaranteed to loose your sunglasses that spending $600 on a pair would be foolish. Invest in Ray Bans. They are affordable and you're guaranteed to look cool and if you don't look cool at least you will fit in with the locals and other tourists.

Which style do you prefer?

Street Style - WEEK 1

I've decided to add another segment to my blog called "Street Style". Once a week I will post pictures of people that I think have great style.

This week I am in Hamburg and saw a girl rocking a pair of Stone Washed jeans.

Check it out.

Do you think you could pull these jeans off? Are you also a fan of the stone washed jeans?

The Biker Boots

I'm currently in Germany, Berlin, and have always wanted a pair of biker boots but have never really found a pair that I love and a good pair of biker boots can be expensive.

I only packed sandals for my trip and the issue with only having sandals is that when you go out to a bar or club your feet are bound to get stepped on or glass is more likely to shatter on your feet.

At the moment most shoe shops in Germany are having their summer sales and I found myself the best pair of biker boots, reduced from 300 euro to 149 euro. I'm so in love with them that I decided to model them all for you...!

The best thing about biker boots is that they look great with jeans, a mini skirt or a pair of denim shorts.

This blog isn't about how great my boots are (although...I really am a huge fan of them) but more about what to look for in a biker boot.

Here are some things you should consider before you purchase a pair.

  • Try and find a reduced pair because in my opinion "biker boots" are suitable for all seasons. You would not be able to determine that my pair are "last season".
  • Stick to a traditional style. Traditional styles never go out of fashion.
  • Stick to leather. Leather has a longer life than other styles such as suede.
  • Make sure the biker boots you choose are not too feminine. Thats the beauty of biker boots...they look sexy without the feminine feel.
  • Try and purchase a "high up" pair. This gives the boots are more biker feel.

In Australia, I would recommend visiting Zomp Shoes http://www.zomp.com.au/.

Many vintage shops also stock a great range of biker boots. I am a huge fan of American Rag. Check out their Facebook page for pictures of what they have to offer.

Are you also a huge fan of the biker boots?

Maybe..one last pic will convince you to purchase a pair.....

All About The Converse All Stars

Throughout my travels I have realised that the "shoe" to have this season is the Converse All Stars. I was never a huge fan and they were never on my "wish list" but I can't help but want a pair in every colour and style.

I am head over heels in love with Converse All Stars.

The girls I have met overseas wear them with jeans, shorts, skirts...you name it.

The best part about these sneakers is that they are so cheap and yet look so good on your feet.

I am a huge fan of the traditional style. My motto has always been to stick to traditional...you can never go wrong with traditional styles.

And if these pictures are not enough to get you racing to the shops to buy yourself a pair...then check out Maria Sharapova and Olivia Palermo (who both have great style)...rocking a pair of All Stars.

Have I convinced you to buy a pair?

The Travel Watch

Back home I own a beautiful Longines watch which was a gift for my 21st birthday. After careful consideration I decided not to take my watch with me on my travels purely because I feared I would loose it or worse leave it in the hotel room during the check out process.

The pain with not having a watch is that I am constantly checking my phone to see what the time is which is a much harder task when you are carrying a map, camera and handbag.

I have since come across the coolest and rather cheap watch which is not only perfect for travelling but looks great with any outfit and for any occasion.

It's from the Casio Classic range (see below).

The reason I love this watch is because it retails for only $29.95 and the round face gives it a "man watch" feel which I think looks great on women.

I also love this black watch from the same Classic range (see below). This watch retails for only $21.95. BARGAIN!!!

If you are planning a big trip, make sure a watch is on your "things to purchase" list. The Casio website displays all the latest designs and prices, so be sure to check it out http://www.casio.com/products/Watches/.

Are you planning a big trip and not thought about purchasing a watch?
